Alaska wildflower leggings
These leggings are made with sisterhood and love. Inspired by my oldest sister (a brilliant botanist by training and steward of rivers in work), I drew our favorite wildflowers as they grow up the mountains behind our childhood home in Moose Pass.
In order, from forest understory to high alpine meadows, they include blueberry flowers, dogwood flowers, geranium, fireweed, columbine, lupine, Indian paintbrush, poppy, moss campion, and those really little yellow flowers that grow in the tundra. If my sister were here should would tell you the Latin name of each.
Photograph credits to Thor of Leslie modeling during a Juneau-based sea kayak trip and to the beautiful Kiki for modeling in the snow. You all are so wonderful!
Here's the stats:
-
Fabric: 82% polyester, 18% spandex
-
Fabric weight: 6.61 oz/yd² (224 g/m²)
-
38-40 UPF
-
Printed, cut, and hand-sewn in North Carolina by very nice people
-
Four-way microfiber stretch, which means fabric stretches and recovers both on the cross and lengthwise grains and is smooooooth and comfortable
-
2” Thick elastic waistband with a nice piece of elastic at the top which keeps them UP. So good, especially for us Alaskan girls with big, muscular thighs (because YOU KNOW we always complain about pants that don't work with legs that climb mountains)
-
Take care around rough surfaces that will be abrasive. May harm material. I do rock climb in mine, but they WILL wear out faster if you act like me. Oops.
- When in doubt, size up.
Fulfillment in approximately 10 days.
